Slovakia's Health Ministry released a draft resolution that stipulates the number of sick beds in public hospitals for individual counties. According to the draft, submitted for interdepartmental review, Bratislava County should administer 4,878 hospital beds, Trnava County 2,329, and Trencin County 2,659. Nitra County is to have 3,550 hospital beds, Zilina County 3,824 and Banska Bystrica County 3,535. Presov County is to have 4,154 and Kosice County 4,246 sick beds in its hospitals
The draft also proposes the minimum hospital network to provide urgent health care, especially for patients brought in by emergency services. It also outlines a list of twenty-three institutional treatment facilities that provide highly specialized health care. These are so-called high-end hospitals, which serve the whole of Slovakia or a whole county.
